This piece is beautiful to me, firstly due to what the artist writes, "my works symbolize my shadow-selves and visualize the effort to yield to new realities that require constant compromise and change." You can truly see this in the gestural movement of the piece. I love that it seems as if the girl portrayed is almost struggling with herself (selves), desperate to find herself at peace but cannot seem to do so. There is anxiety in it - the point comes across so well that I become anxious by simply looking at it. To me, this represents dark, sad, constant, unfinished feelings of never seeming to find what you're looking for.
