I love this piece because it shows the beautiful anatomy of the human body and yet also conveys a depth that is unseen. The artist describes the "feeling of inhabiting inner space, and the ways that personal identity and even consciousness are rooted in physical experience." As human beings, we are constantly trying to figure out ourselves - our consciousness, our identity, who we are. The beauty of this piece is that while those things are unknown and worth contemplation, we are just bodies, with physical veins and cells and simplicity. It is good to know that instead of always wondering why we ARE, we can simply BE.
